Visit the ice rink surrounded by Christmas lights and trees, with cabins selling seasonal food, drink and crafts. Have a festive drink at the winter bar whilst enjoying live music, and explore the bigger, better market in the square and Smithy Row, selling a variety of gifts, decorations and culinary delights.

It’s that time of year again! The glitter is out, the dame’s frocks have been sewn, the song sheet has been painted and we’re almost ready. The legendary Playhouse Panto returns next week and that can only mean one thing: the countdown to Christmas has begun.

Aladdin promises to be a sensational show, dazzling with wit and sparkling with song, dance and magical costumes.

With foliage cut from the grounds, twinkling lights, baubles and Christmas trees, the Abbey is transformed for Christmas. See Newstead in all its splendour at this magical time of year. 

Visit the craft stalls in the Cloisters to pick up Christmas gifts and treat yourself to some festive fare in the Abbey café. Visit Santa to pass on your Christmas wishes (additional cost). Due to the nature of this historic house, there is no disabled access.

Simply Red take their classic album ‘Stars’ on the road this November in what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the year. The first half of this special show will feature the entire ‘Stars’ album in its original running order while the second half of the show will feature hits and classic Simply Red songs.
